Eat stuff that keeps cancer from spreading?

A Washington State University study published in the journal Cancer and Metastasis Reviews focused on genes that suppress metastasis in cancer cells. Their research found that specific substances affected the metastasis suppressor genes of numerous cancers.

This means that you may be able to turn on these suppressor genes and protect yourself from the spread of cancer by ingesting certain substances. Those studied were curcumin, vitamin D, amino acids, ginseng extract, the tomato cartenoid lycopene, pomegranate juice, and essential fatty acids. This was an initial study and follow-up is necessary to discover others as well. This is an important step in seeing how natural compounds help our bodies slow or stop the spread of cancer.

Changing cancer’s environment is a good step to eliminating its happy home.
